Social media has been buzzing with thousands of comments over the decision by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to terminate the appointment of Black Stars Coach, Charles Akonnor.
Mr. Akonnor was relieved of his duties today, September 13, together with two other assistants. This follows the receipt of the technical reports from Akonnor and the Black Stars Management Committee.
According to some users on Twitter, they are in full support of GFA's decision as CK Akonnor's performance has been abysmal.
However, others are of the view that he, Akonnor being fired just a year after appointment is unfair. Meanwhile, others are calling for a foreign coach as Akonnor's replacement.
A three-member committee made up of Vice President Mark Addo, Upper East Regional Football Association Chairman, Alhaji Salifu Zida and Dr. Randy Abbey are to find a Head Coach and Assistant Coaches for the Black Stars within the next 72 hours.
Below are comments from Twitter:
Thank God CK Akonnor has been sacked. Can GFA bring Antonio Conte already?

CAF not been fair to CK https://t.co/a8ZVzznzng point is that CK's strength is his home games so CAF suppose to allow Ghana plays all her games in Ghana to avoid the sack of CK.

CK Akonnor I wish you well.
Good luck!!!!!!!
It's politics playing out within the football cartel but now Jubilee House has a hand in who takes over Black Stars. Don't forget CK Akonnor's appointed was ratified by the Presidency. This time Gov't doesn't trust GFA after all the fall-outs. That's why they are watching now..
