The Asokwa Circuit Court in the Ashanti Region, has remanded the Suame Constituency Youth organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Razak Kuampa Avoliya.
This comes after he was arraigned on Thursday for his comments over the weekend.
According to the court, the matter bordered on National Security, as a result he cannot be granted bail.
The case has thus been adjourned to Tuesday, February 14.
The accused was detained by the Police on Wednesday after the regional leadership of the party turned him over.
The NDC Youth Organiser in Suame is reported to have made statements that border on possible reprisals to state-sponsored violence during elections.
As a result, the Police issued a statement on Monday on his threat “to attack persons of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the run-up to the 2024 General Elections”.
Condemning the incident, the Police urged political actors to be circumspect in their language and utterances “to safeguard the peace and security” of the country.
The Police subsequently declared him wanted.
