FC Samartex President, Richard Nsenkyire, says the club is not intimidated by the pedigree of Raja Club Athletic ahead of their showdown in the final preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
The Ghanaian champions, who are making their debut in the competition, will host the three-time African champions at the Accra Sports Stadium for the first leg on September 15, 2024.
A week later, Samartex will travel to Morocco for the second leg, and aim to eliminate the Moroccan giants to secure a spot in the group stages.
“We are not moved by names, if it is only names, we would not be where we are,” Richard said in an interview with JoySports.
“Nobody gave us a chance when we went to Douala [against Victoria United] but we were able to secure victory and secure victory here [Accra] as well and I can promise Ghanaians that they are going to see football from us.
“We are focused, we are doing our normal training. We are going to take it game by game, it is also another football game.”
Before that, FC Samartex will face FA Cup winners Nsoatreman FC on August 31 in the Champion of Champions clash, followed by their Premier League opener against Dreams FC next month.
