The Wenchi Municipal Manager of the National Health Insurance Authority, Nurudeen Ajansomah, says poor or no internet connectivity shouldn’t be a landmark to dictate affordable healthcare.
According to him, remote communities find it difficult to access affordable healthcare.
Speaking with Joy News Nestor Kafui Adjomah, the Municipal Manager said even though mobile registration was introduced to make it easier for clients to make new registration or renew their membership, accessibility to an internet connection has become a barrier.
"You get to some communities, they are willing to be registered or to renew their membership, the information has gone down to the grassroots but they can't do it because of network challenge," he said.
As part of NHIA's anniversary celebration, Mr. Nurudeen Ajansomah said his outfit will embark on a series of community registration in the remotest areas of the Wenchi municipality.
"We don't want anyone to complain that because of poor internet, they have not been able to access healthcare.
"We are moving to the interior communities to ensure that we mobilize them and have their status renewed or for fresh registration," she said.
