Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has begun a three-day campaign tour of the Upper East Region.
He arrived in the region on Sunday, November 22, to start his tour at Tongo, in the Talensi District to garner support ahead of the December polls.
On the second day of his tour, November 23, he would sympathise with the families of the late Bishop Jacob Ayeebo, a former Member of the Council of State, and Faisal Anaba, a former Deputy Upper East Regional Minister at Zebilla in the Bawku West District.
He would then move to the Bawku Central Constituency and call on the Paramount Chief of the Bawku Traditional Area, Zug-raan Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II, address party supporters at the Daduri park, Widana and Weriyanga all in the Bawku, Pusiga and Tempane Districts.
However, a 59-member youth group in Bole has announced their departure from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to them, the NDC have neglected their needs despite their sacrifices for the goodwill of the party.
This comes two weeks to the general elections on December 7.
