Great Olympics midfielder, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, has encouraged Black Stars players who are without a club at the moment to sign for Ghana Premier League clubs.
Agyemang recently joined Asamoah Gyan, Sulley Muntari and Samuel Inkoom in returning to the domestic scene after signing a deal with Olympics.
While Gyan featured for Legon Cities two seasons ago, Muntari and Inkoom both played Accra Hearts of Oak in the 2021/22 campaign.
According to Badu, signing for some of these clubs will ensure the players are in good shape as well as help grow the Ghanaian league.
I think [to sign for GPL clubs] is a good option. If you think you haven’t stopped playing football and maybe you’re looking for some offers from outside and it’s not coming, you can’t just stay home and be rusty, or be home and train alone. It won’t help you, ” he said.
“Join a [PL] club - six months loan, there’s an option in January for the transfer window. Just keep yourself busy, help the players here to grow as well and just move on with your life because our life is football.
“I am just appealing to them [to come]. Maybe some of my colleagues fear insults but you should be ready for everything. Come let’s enjoy ourselves and help the guys grow and make the league exciting.”
The 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season is scheduled to begin on the weekend of 9 to 12 September, 2022.
