The progress to the one-eighth stage of this year's National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) is for all the saints because "it was the will of God."
According to the 'Kwabotwe' boys, they worked hard for this win over West African SHS and Sandema SHS and, as they move forward, nothing else could stop their brilliance.
At the end of the contest on Thursday, October 13, the Mfantsipim School triumphed with a whopping 61 points against 43 and 12 points by WASS and Sandema SHS, respectively.

Prior to the contest, many expected the boys from WASS to easily beat their opponents. This nearly happened because in the first round they followed Mfantsipim closely with just five points difference.
But the 'gallant men' from Mfantsipim School kept their clean sheet all through the five rounds.

The Kwabotwe boys also had a perfect score of 10 points in the problem of the day round, earning them the Prudential Life NSMQ Star worth GH¢2,000.
To make matters worse for their opponents, they set a standard in the last round and answered three riddles correctly. An amount of GH¢800 was awarded for that.
Meanwhile, some members of the Mfantsipim Old Boys Association (MOBA) said this is their year to lift the trophy.
“We are reclaiming our heritage, what is rightfully ours, we need to reinstate our supremacy for people to get to understand and appreciate that we are Mfantsipim and it is the only school in Ghana; forget about the others,” they said.
