Ghana's first bamboo tissue paper producer, Good Roll Ghana Limited, has launched its flagship eco-friendly toilet roll.
The ceremony took place at Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.
The product is under the government One District One Factory programme.
The factory which was set up at Akwamufie near Akosombo in the Asuogyaman District, in April currently produces 120,000 rolls per day and targets Ghanaian and European markets.
The company has over 13 local distributors in the country.

The company prides itself in the product base on its protection of the environment and that is in line with sustainable development goals.
In a speech read on his behalf, the Executive Director of the Environmental Protection Agency, Dr Henry Kokofu said Ghana is committed to reducing its GHG emissions and climate adaptation in several priority sectors under its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) including mass transit, infrastructure, land use, food production, energy, and forest and water resources management.
He said the country requires between $9.3 billion and $15.5 billion of investment to implement the 47 nationally determined contribution measures from 2020 to 2030.
Interventions of government have been in the areas of improved cooking stoves and use of LPG, green Ghana initiative, bus rapid transit, promotion of the use of efficient fridges, institutional biogas in education and health sectors, reforestation of degraded forests, as well as land field with gas collection system.
Enumerating environmental benefits derived from the bamboo plant, Dr. Kokofu said Bamboo is a renewable resource with an amazing growth rate which absorbs greenhouse gases from the atmosphere.
Dr Kokofu called for Nature-grown solutions that can be extremely important in building a more sustainable society.
He noted that the services they offer can be used to address current societal concerns, such as climate change, poverty, food security, unemployment and natural disasters if they are effectively managed and protected.

In an interview with the Finance and Administrative Manager of the company, Mohammed Sani Adjei explained that Good Roll Factory do not add chemicals such as bleach in the process like other toilet rolls on the market.
He said Good Role Factory has just set up the ten-ton factory and has plans of putting up 50-ton factory in February next year.
According to him Good Role currently holds 20% market share in the country and he was of the view that support of Government partners like Prolink, their initiative would be acknowledged in the larger communities in the country and even beyond the borders of the country.
Mohammed Sani also disclosed that Good Role believes in sustainability and therefore wants to set up a production facility to look out for raw materials and this is where local farmers are needed.
The factory has about 200 farmers who as their major suppliers of bamboo and these bamboos are harvested on their farms.
Mohammed revealed that they are also working in collaboration with Imba and the Forestry Commission who also supplies them with over 200,000 bamboo seedlings which are being given back to the farmers to replant which is harvested in the next six month or one year.
The Good Role Factory has positioned itself to make sure there is the available supply of raw materials.
