Renowned broadcaster, Oheneyere Gifty Anti has expressed her willingness to give birth again if she gets the chance, despite her current age.
According to her, giving birth at an elderly age helped her understand why most women who become pregnant during their menopausal years worry about the difficulties that come with it.
Having to deal with all the challenges of taking care of her only daughter since infancy, she explained that she has had her fair share of difficulties and can relate to them as it hasn’t been an easy journey.
Gifty Anti revealed that despite all the roller-coaster of emotions and challenges she has faced mothering a child at her age, she will not reject another opportunity to give birth and go through all of it again because it is worth it.
She said this while speaking to KMJ on Prime Morning on Tuesday.
"Absolutely I will. At 53, I will. That is the amazing, miraculous life of mothers. There are people who have gone through CS three times, and it’s not easy. I’m still bearing the burden of going through CS. Though I still get back pains and aches due to the epidural, if God should give me twins right now, I will gladly take them," she said.
The Standpoint host also disclosed that her latest book, titled "The Black Chale Wote," is inspired by her gratitude for giving birth to her daughter as well as her experiences as a career woman mothering a child at an older age.
She further revealed that the book, though dedicated to her daughter, also seeks to encourage women who share similar experiences as herself to understand that they are not alone. It is also to encourage women to have a successful career as mothers.
The book is set to be launched at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on August 10, 2023.
