Ghanaian sprinter Joseph Paul Amoah has been taken to the hospital following his injury during the 200m heats at the 2023 World Athletics Championships.
The former 200m national record holder finished 5th during heat 6 of the race on Wednesday and missed out on a place in the semifinal.
Joe Paul looked certain to finish in the first four of his heat but slowed down towards the finishing line.
Speaking to Joy Sports after the race, he revealed he suffered a toe injury which led to him slowing down.
“I heard it pop,” Joe Paul said, talking about his toe.
The Ghanaian has however been taken to the hospital to have an X-ray done on his injured toe to know the extent of the injury.
Joe Paul is expected to be part of Ghana’s 4x100m relay team that will run on Friday, August 25.
