Morocco is set to host the 16th edition of the All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT); Africa’s premier Women’s Golf competition for the first time.
The event will take place from November 28 to 30 at the breathtaking Tazegzout Golf Course in Agadir, under the presidency of HRH Prince Moulay Rachid.
This year’s tournament brings together 20 nations, including powerhouses like South Africa, defending champions with 14 victories, alongside Angola, Ghana, Egypt, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, and Tunisia.
Other participants include Kenya, Botswana, Côte d’Ivoire, Namibia, and more which reflects the growing enthusiasm for women’s golf across the continent.
Morocco will field a strong team led by 15-year-old Sofia Cherif Essakali, an Arab Champion and rising star who has already made waves by making two cuts at the Lalla Meryem Cup.
She will be joined by Nadia Sanz Ouezzani and Rim Imni, both products of the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation’s "Road to the Tour" program, aimed at nurturing young talent.
With past successes, including second-place finishes in 2016 and 2022, the Moroccan team is poised to compete strongly against Africa’s best.
Since its inception in 1992, the AACT has provided a platform to promote and celebrate women’s golf in Africa.
The upcoming edition also highlights Morocco’s commitment to elevating the sport while showcasing its ability to host world-class events.
