The Ghana Football Association has pledged to put in maximum effort into returning the glory days of the senior national team, Black Stars.
Ghana failed to qualify for the AFCON for the first time in 20 years, finishing bottom of their group, without recording a single victory.
The GFA has since met with Head Coach, Otto Addo, to review his technical report, and have communicated the displeasure of Ghanaians towards the team’s recent results to the coach, according to a statement released on Friday.
In the statement, the Ghana FA reiterated it’s intention to organize a stakeholder forum, to pick thoughts from football fans from all walks of life concerning the decline of the Black Stars.
“The GFA remains committed to taking holistic decisions, in conjunction with key stakeholders for the good and growth of Ghana football, with a strong emphasis on the senior national football team, the Black Stars. This process will be enabled by collective will and single-minded focus to restore the glory of the Black Stars,” the statement said.
Ghana’s Black Stars have dropped to 77th in the FIFA World Rankings, after the disastrous run in the AFCON qualifiers.
The Black Stars’ next assignment is in March 2025, when the FIFA World Cup qualifiers resume.
