The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the 2024 general elections so far, commending the Electoral Commission (EC) for its efforts in managing the process.
The Director of Communications for the party’s campaign team, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, made this known during a press conference on Election Day.
According to Mr Aboagye, the NPP is closely monitoring the elections and is encouraged by the turnout across the country.
He called on all Ghanaians to make their voices heard by going out to vote.
“We are happy with the turnout so far and urge all eligible voters who have not yet cast their ballots to do so. Everyone must participate in this important democratic exercise,” he stated.
However, the party raised concerns about an alleged incident in Kintampo South, where an EC official reportedly issued 15 ballot papers that did not feature the NPP’s flagbearer.
The NPP condemned this act, describing it as a deliberate attempt to undermine the electoral process.
“We strongly condemn the actions of this official and demand their immediate prosecution to serve as a deterrent to others,” Mr Aboagye declared.
The NPP also commended the Ghana Police Service for their swift intervention in the matter, ensuring the integrity of the voting process.
The party reiterated its commitment to supporting a free, fair, and transparent election, adding that it would continue to observe the process closely.
