Ghanaian forward Abdul Aziz Issah has missed out on the Goal of the Year at the 2024 CAF Awards.
Aziz's stunning long-range goal from the center of the pitch against Lobito in last season’s CAF Confederation Cup made it to the final 11 nominations.
He competed against the likes of Saïd Benrahma from Algeria and Sébastien Haller from Ivory Coast for the prize.
But it was Angolan centre-forward Mabululu whose curler against Namibia in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations was voted the winner.
Aziz helped Dreams FC reach the semi-finals of the last season’s continental event with four goals and two assists.
The 19-year-old's performance earned a big move to La Liga giants Barcelona in the summer.
Meanwhile at the CAF awards, Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman beat Ivorian Simon Adingra, Morocco's Achraf Hakimi, Serhou Guirassy from Guinea and South Africa's Ronwen Williams for the Player of the Year award.
