Eric Nana Agyemang-Prempeh of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been declared the winner of the Ahafo Ano North parliamentary seat following a court-mandated re-collation of election results.
The re-collation, conducted by the Electoral Commission (EC), was ordered by the High Court after disputes arose regarding the initial results.

The process reaffirmed Agyemang-Prempeh's victory, solidifying his position as the Member of Parliament-elect for the constituency with 20,353 votes.
His contender from the National Democratic Congress, Kwasi Adusei secured 20232 votes.
On December 8, ballot papers, pink sheets, and other election materials were destroyed following a violent protest at the Ahafo Ano North Collation Centre in Tepa.
The incident, which disrupted the vote collation process forced the Electoral Commission (EC) to suspend activities at the center.
The unrest reportedly began when a frustrated crowd, angered by delays in the collation process, gathered at the center. According to JoyNews reporter Anthony Bryan Opoku, the situation quickly escalated as individuals began throwing stones and causing destruction.
The protest resulted in significant damage to the collation center, prompting a military intervention to restore order and disperse the crowd. Despite the intervention, critical election materials, including pink sheets and ballot papers, were destroyed, making it impossible to continue the collation process at the original venue.
In response, the EC announced that the re-collation would take place today - Saturday, December 21 at the EC’s Greater Accra Regional office under heavy security. The Ahafo Ano North constituency is among nine constituencies affected by court-mandated re-collation due to disputes over the initial results.
