Asante Kotoko will host Bibiani Gold Stars at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi in Friday's lone Premier League fixture for Matchday 15.
The Porcupine Warriors currently sit fifth on the table with 24 points, having won three of their last five matches (W3, L2). During this run, they have scored 13 goals and conceded 10.
Kotoko remain one of the league's top ten home-performing teams and will be aiming to secure maximum points against a Gold Stars side they have never lost to at home since 2021.
Gold Stars approach this encounter on the back of a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Nsoatreman FC last Saturday.
They are second on the league table, level on 27 points with leaders Heart of Lions.
Boasting the third-best attack in the league with 14 goals scored and only seven conceded, the Miners are proving to be a formidable side.
They also rank as the seventh-best away team, having suffered just one defeat on their travels.
The head-to-head record between the two sides favours Asante Kotoko, who have played Gold Stars three times at home in the league since the 2021/22 season.
Kotoko secured a commanding 5-0 win in 2021/22, followed by a 1-1 draw in 2022/23, and a narrow 1-0 victory in the 2023/24 season.
While Kotoko’s strong form and dominant record against Gold Stars make them favourites, the Miners will be keen to continue their push for the league’s top spot and could provide a stern test for the hosts.
