The National Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Stephen Ayensu Ntim, has taken a temporary break from the party’s ongoing nationwide 'thank you tour'.
This was disclosed in a press statement issued on Thursday, 1 May, by the party’s Director of Communications, Richard Ahiagbah.

According to the statement, the chairman stepped away from the tour to attend to other equally important commitments and is expected to rejoin the exercise in due course.
The statement further emphasised that Mr Ntim “remains fully committed to the tour” and has no intention of abandoning it.
The NPP’s nationwide tour has been met with some form of criticism within the party.
Among the critics is Mr Kwadwo Mpiani, a former Chief of Staff under President John Agyekum Kufuor, who has strongly condemned the tour and called for its suspension.
Additionally, 2024 NPP flagbearer aspirant Kennedy Agyapong has formally withdrawn from the tour, citing threats to the safety of his supporters as the reason for his decision.
Despite these setbacks, the NPP maintains that the tour is both necessary and justified and has affirmed that it will continue as planned.
