Firefighters from the New Juaben North and South Municipal Fire Commands are currently battling an intense blaze that has engulfed the House 3 boys’ dormitory at Oyoko Methodist Senior High School (OMESS), situated in the New Juaben North Municipality in the Eastern Region.
The cause of the fire, which broke out approximately an hour ago, remains unclear.
However, preliminary indications suggest it may have originated in the master’s bungalow, located within the same structure as the dormitory block, before rapidly spreading to the adjacent boys’ quarters.

Reports from local media indicate that the contents of the master’s bungalow have been completely destroyed, with no items salvaged from the inferno.
A fire appliance from the Regional Fire Command has since been deployed to reinforce municipal crews in their efforts to bring the blaze under control and to prevent it from causing further destruction to school property.
