Former Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Inusah Fuseini, has called for an independent third-party investigation into the recent military helicopter crash at Adansi Akrofoum in the Ashanti Region.
Speaking on JoyNews’ Newsfile on Saturday, August 16, the former Tamale Central MP said only a credible and impartial probe would uncover the true cause of the tragedy and restore public confidence.
Mr Fuseini stressed that while the state may be capable of conducting its own inquiry, an independent investigation would ensure transparency and remove any doubts of political interference.
“We must have an independent third party look into the helicopter crash,” he said, insisting that the gravity of the incident required absolute accountability.
The crash, which occurred on Wednesday, August 6, claimed the lives of eight prominent figures, including Defence Minister Dr Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation Dr Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, former parliamentary candidate Samuel Aboagye, NDC Vice Chairman Samuel Sarpong, and Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Limuna Muniru Mohammed.
