The Regional Director for the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program (NEIP) has revealed that the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), is one of the hubs selected to support the government’s Adwuma Wura Project.
Speaking at the UPSA-1000 program, Priscilla Naa Aklerh Okantey Plange explained that young people will soon begin receiving training at the UPSA hub to prepare them for entrepreneurial ventures.
“UPSA is part of the hubs that will be working with NEIP for the Adwuma Wura Project. Youth will be assigned to this hub and trained over a period of five weeks,” she said.
Mrs Planch further disclosed that the training will officially commence in early October.
“We are doing the matriculation on the 2nd of October. Right after that, an intensive five-week program starts. Some of the youth who complete the training will then receive government funding to empower their businesses,” she explained.
She stressed that such collaborations are part of the government’s efforts to build sustainable pathways for youth entrepreneurship and reduce unemployment.
