The Ghana Police Service has arrested a man captured in a viral video discharging a firearm in Accra.
In a press statement issued by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Tuesday, December 30, the Police said the arrest was carried out by the Cyber Vetting Team at CID Headquarters.
“The Cyber Vetting Team at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters has arrested a suspect seen in a viral video discharging a high-calibre firearm at the AfroFuture Festival held at El-Wak Stadium, Accra on 28th December 2025,” the statement signed by Chief Inspector Brigitte Gabanaawo said.
The suspect has been identified as Abubakari Sadick, popularly known as “Cyborg”.

According to the Police, he was arrested on December 29 at Adenta, for discharging a firearm during a meet-up with Nigerian Musician Asake in violation of the Firearms Act and the Public Order Act.
The Police further disclosed that the weapon used in the incident has been retrieved.
“The weapon, a Derya MK-12 firearm with registration number 22-GHA-1162, has been retrieved and secured as evidence,” the release stated.

Mr Sadick is currently in police custody and is assisting with investigations. The Police said he will be put before the court.
“The suspect is currently in police custody, assisting with investigations, and will be brought before the court to face justice,” the CID said.
The Ghana Police Service also cautioned the public on the misuse of firearms, stressing that owning a registered weapon does not give the holder the freedom to use it recklessly.
It added that “firearms licences can be revoked and the individual can be charged accordingly.”
