Henry Nana Boakye, National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has described Saturday’s flagbearer election as a significant step towards the party’s quest to reclaim power in 2028.
According to him, "Everything that happened on Saturday, for me, is a step towards victory in 2028," he said on The Pulse on JoyNews on Monday while discussing the outcome of the election.
Mr Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, commended the peaceful conduct of the polls, noting that the orderly and united manner in which the election was held is a positive signal for the party’s prospects in the 2028 general elections.
According to him, the process reflects the NPP’s readiness to regroup and return to government.
He also said the party’s National Executive is fully behind Dr Mahamudu Bawumia following his victory in Saturday’s flagbearer polls.
"The leadership of the New Patriotic Party, we also pledged our support to the newly elected presidential candidate, His Excellency Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. He has our support fully, and we are going to collaborate with him fully," he said.
"We will make sure that the entire party is solely behind him to win election 2028," he added.
