There has been no “serious headway” in attempts to prosecute the killer of staunch fan Nana Pooley, says Asante Kotoko.
It has been exactly one year since the Kotoko supporter was stabbed to death on February 2, 2025, in Nsoatre during a Ghana Premier League clash between Kotoko and Nsoatreman.
He was found lying on the ground with blood oozing from his stomach.
No one has been prosecuted, as the case continues to linger in court.
"It's been a year of reflection and anxiety because till date, there hasn't been any serious headway as far as the prosecution of some accused persons are concern,” Club’s Communications Director Sarfu Duku told Luv FM.
"The last adjournment was taken in view of the fact that the Magistrate who has been sitting on the case has been promoted to the Circuit Court and so he was not available.
"The implication is that he will not continue with the case and right now, in simple terms, we are at the preliminary stage of the case.
"It's quite unfortunate."
The incident marred last season’s Premier League, with the competition halted for over a month to allow stakeholder discussions and the introduction of enhanced safety and security protocols.
Following the acts of hooliganism, Nsoatreman FC withdrew from the competition.
