Entrepreneurs aged between 18 and 45 who are actively building their own businesses will soon earn a spotlight on Hitz FM’s new initiative, ‘My Hustle’.
‘My Hustle’ is a programme designed to celebrate the journeys of young business professionals, provide practical business guidance, and connect young entrepreneurs with mentors, industry professionals and a youthful audience.
Whether you are a phone seller, mobile money vendor, driver, artisan, fashion designer, food vendor or an app developer, this is for you.
Interested participants are required to send videos or texts sharing their business stories to WhatsApp number 0548841039. They are expected to outline the challenges they have faced running their businesses and the successes they have achieved.
Selected participants stand a chance of being invited for interviews on Hitz FM and Joy Prime. They will also have the opportunity to join the main event later in April 2026, where they will meet other business people and professionals for discussions aimed at shaping their future.
This programme targets tertiary students exploring career and business opportunities, young professionals seeking financial independence, start-up founders and small business owners, creative entrepreneurs in music, fashion, digital media and technology, skilled artisans and informal sector youth, as well as young people interested in personal growth, wealth creation and innovation.
According to DJ Black, Programme Manager of Hitz FM, ‘My Hustle’ will be held once every quarter with a live studio audience drawn from tertiary institutions and young business owners, alongside panel discussions featuring selected young entrepreneurs and business professionals offering expert guidance while answering audience questions.
“As the leading entertainment and lifestyle morning show with a demography of largely young people, we have thought it wise to help shine some light on livelihoods of our listeners, after entertaining them. A lot of young people are doing amazing stuff that needs encouragement. This is the time to help build tomorrow’s business tycoons,” he said.
As part of the initiative, Daybreak Hitz will interview one business personality every week, selected either from submitted entries or the wider business community.
Afternoon Ride will provide daily business tips, while Cruise Control will read entries from listeners.
