All members of statutory boards, corporations, commissions, and councils appointed by former President Nana Akufo-Addo and Ministers in his administration have been reminded they no longer hold office.
This reminder, detailed in a press statement issued by the Presidency on Monday, January 13, 2025, follows provisions of the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (Act 845).
The statement, signed by the acting Spokesperson for the President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, clarified that all members ceased to hold office on January 7, 2025, when President Mahama assumed office.

The statement further specified that this action excludes commissions that are independent constitutional bodies, which remain unaffected by the change.
In the coming months, membership of the affected bodies- boards, commissions, councils, and statutory corporations- will be reconstituted according to their respective enabling laws.
President Mahama expressed his gratitude to all members for their service and wished them well in their future endeavours.
Until their reconstitution, the managements of these bodies have been instructed to seek clearance from the Chief of Staff before making any major decisions to ensure their operations remain in line with the policies and strategic direction of the new administration.
