The Accra Region Police Command has assured the public of its full preparedness to provide adequate security before, during, and after the Parliamentary re-run election in the Ayawaso East Constituency scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
In a press release on March 2, the Command stated that it has deployed sufficient police personnel across all designated polling stations and key locations within the constituency to ensure a peaceful, transparent, and orderly electoral process.

"The Command has deployed adequate Police personnel across all designated polling stations and key locations to ensure a peaceful, transparent, and orderly electoral process," the statement signed by Supt Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region, read in part.
The Police assured the public that they would maintain a visible presence and conduct patrols before, during, and after the election to prevent any acts that may disrupt public peace and security.
The Accra Regional Police Command cautioned the public against engaging in any acts that could undermine the integrity of the electoral process.
"The Accra Regional Police Command cautions the public against engaging in acts of violence, intimidation, spreading misinformation, or any conduct that may undermine the integrity of the electoral process," the statement warned.
It added that persons found to have violated the law would be dealt with in accordance with Ghanaian law, signaling the Command's commitment to enforcing the rules without fear or favor.
The Police Command also urged all eligible voters in the constituency to exercise their civic responsibility peacefully and to report any suspicious activities to the security agencies.
The by-election in Ayawaso East follows developments that necessitated a parliamentary re-run in the constituency.
The Police appeal for calm and cooperation comes as residents prepare to head to the polls on Tuesday.
