The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has announced the cancellation of the filling of embarkation and disembarkation forms by travellers at the Kotoka International Airport.
GIS in a statement issued on March 20th and signed by the Director General, Charles Kraikue noted that the recent directive is in line with the government's digitalisation agenda.
According to the Service, in place of filling the embarkation and disembarkation cards, travellers will be required to “provide key information (listed in the Public Notice) on presentation at the immigration processing booth.”

These details include the traveller's home and workplace addresses in Ghana and abroad, their contact information, their flight details (including airline and flight number), the occasion of the visit, and their occupation.
On the back of this new directive, GIS will commence a 10-day pilot of the newly introduced measure from March 21, and the full rollout of same from March 31, 2023.
“By this letter, the Board of Airlines' Representatives - Ghana is kindly requested to notify its members of the introduction of this new measure in the airport facilitation process,” it added.
