Deputy National Communications Director of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Preko, says the Ghanaians will not take it kindly to the leadership if they fail to maintain power in 2024.
He said Ghanaians can’t afford to endure a repeat of the hardships unleashed on them under the leadership of Former President John Mahama.
He said the freezing of employment, suspension of teachers and nurses trainee allowance, Dumsor, and other economic hardships are still fresh in the minds of Ghanaians.
Yaw Preko told Mark Abisah on Suncity Radio in Sunyani ahead of the recently held Bono Regional Delegates Conference that the NPP is determined to build on the solid foundation since regaining power in 2017.
He mentioned bold initiatives by the Akuffo Addo-Bawumia led government like the Banking Sector clean up, Free Senior High School Policy, One Constituency one Ambulance, and the Digitization of the Economy to justify why he thinks NPP is the best party for Ghana.
He was, however, quick to add that the party will not be complacent despite the numerous gains.
“Even though our achievements so far give us the assurance that we can break the Eight-year electoral tenure in Ghana, we are not going to be complacent; we will go all out in 2024,” the deputy national communication director said.
When asked about his preferred Presidential candidate for 2024, Yaw Preko said the delegates would decide at the appropriate time.
He added that President Akufo-Addo is determined to hand over power to another NPP regime, hence his unwavering commitment to working assiduously to justify the confidence reposed in the Party by the good people of Ghana.
