Head coach of FC Samartex, Nurudeeen Amadu, has hailed his team's remarkable home form in clinching the Ghana Premier League in only their second season.
Under Amadu's guidance, FC Samartex secured the league title with two games to spare, overcoming Bibiani Goldstars in a pivotal match on matchday 32.
Amadu, formerly with King Faisal, transformed FC Samartex into a formidable force, particularly at their home ground, the Nsenkyire Sports Arena, where they recorded an impressive 16 wins out of 17 matches losing only to Nations FC.
Speaking after their win against Accra Lions on the final day of the season, Amadu highlighted his side’s resilience at home as a major part of the triumph.
“The point is that if you’re going to sustain your position in the league, you need to win most of your home games…that is what did the magic because we calculated the number of points we could amass if we won most of our home games and pursued that," he said.
He also credited the support of the fans and management for the historic feat.
“For a young club like FC Samartex, we’re very grateful to the fans and management for their invaluable support. It really helped us in coming this far."
With this victory, FC Samartex now looks ahead to representing Ghana in the upcoming CAF Champions League, aiming to follow in the footsteps of recent Ghanaian successes like Medeama and Dreams FC in Africa.
