The annual Guinness Ghana DJ Awards Pub Fest, powered by Smirnoff took place on September 7, 2024, at the Kona Lounge in Accra.
After touring the Volta Region, Bono Region and Northern Region, the DJ tour train made at stop in the Greater Accra Region at the Kona Lounge.
The Guinness Ghana DJ Awards Pub Fest is a massive party pertaining to the Guinness Ghana DJ Awards that serves as a platform to host diverse disk jockeys across the country to display their talents aside the awards night.
The place was filled with numerous music lovers who were thrilled to exciting different genres of music with skillful DJs: DJ Cartoon, Reigning Guinness Ghana DJ of the year champion, DJ Lord OTB, DJ Ikon, Three time best mobile DJ of the year winner, DJ Toyor, DJ Lipsy, DJ Miki and DJ Afro.
Drinking bottles of Smirnoff and Guinness, the merry makers danced the night away, moving to the beats and flow of the atmosphere. The pub fest gave a vivid explanation of this year’s Guinness Ghana DJ awards theme 'United by Music'. Displaying how total strangers could hit it off and have a good time, listening to their favorite songs being mixed by the DJ’s on the turn tables.
“I love all the DJ’s, I’m a music lover so I love every DJ. I came here to have fun. Already it’s going down!”, remarked a party goer.
Events coordinator of the Guinness Ghana DJ awards, David Quaye spoke to Joy Prime TV about what the Guinness Ghana DJ awards stands for.
“Guinness Ghana DJ awards is all about the DJ’s and all we want to do is make the DJ’s superstars because they bring out all the fun. As you can see all the people dancing here are not musicians but the DJ’s are making sure we have a good time. DJ’s are very important in the entertainment eco- system and that’s why the Guinness Ghana DJ awards is here and all we’re doing through the pub festival, spotlighting DJ’s and making sure that they are Known and seen in the communities and nationally the are recognized and that’s all we’re doing,” he explained.
Merqury Quaye, C.E.O of Merqury Republic and Founder of Guinness Ghana DJ awards, threw more light on the Guinness Ghana DJ Awards Pub Fest.

“Basically, we have an awards program which stages a number of DJ’s but at the end of the day, how many DJ’s can we have on our stage? We realized that there are so many DJ’s across the country, thousands of DJ’s so we created the Pub Fest to create an opportunity for every DJ shine of the Guinness Ghana DJ awards stage, we’ve been to the Volta Region, Bono Region, we’ve been to Northern Region, it’s been crazy and it tells you that the Guinness Ghana DJ Awards Brand has become the biggest brand when it comes to music in our country”, he said.

As we anticipate the Guinness Ghana DJ Awards, DJ Lord OTB, reigning champion of the Guinness Ghana DJ of the year is counting on taking the crown again.

The Awards night will take place on 9th November at the Grand Arena, Accra.
