The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, says the NDC government will create "sustainable and decent" jobs if voted into power this December 7.
During the NDC manifesto launch at the UPSA hall, the former president stated that the creation of jobs will not only provide growth for the economy but also add to the prosperity of the people of Ghana.
The NDC flagbearer stated that his position as a former president and now the flagbearer of the opposition in an upcoming election had given him a unique opportunity to reflect soberly on the challenges and burdens of the average Ghanaian and their expectations from government.
In view of that, there needs to be a change in the system that will open up opportunities for every member of society.
“We must create equal opportunity for all Ghanaian businesses and not deal with them based on political colour or family affiliation of their owners.
“We will create not only jobs but sustainable and decent jobs so that people can live prosperous and dignified lives.”
He also noted that the survival and success of the future generation require urgent substantial changes that will give access to economic and social changes.
John Dramani Mahama also laid emphasis on the fact that Ghanaian owned businesses should be at the centre of the nation’s economic growth, as that would contribute to the growth of the economy and provide prosperity for all.
