Former Assin Central Member of Parliament and New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential hopeful, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has donated GH₵30,000 in support of the surgery of an NPP Electoral Area Coordinator in the Bia West constituency of the Western North region.
Mr Kennedy Agyapong gave out the amount during a meeting with NPP polling station executives and electoral area coordinators in the Bia West Constituency as part of his Unity Tour of the nation in the Western North region.
While presenting the donation, he urged the coordinators and polling station executives to vote for a competent individual who can create jobs and make life better for them.
"We need to vote for someone who can create jobs and make it possible for party folks to secure jobs so that in case someone is sick, we can contribute to help the person for their loyalty to the party. I was told by the Chairman that one of our coordinators is not well and needs to undergo surgery. So I am giving him this GH₵30,000 for his surgery."
Mr Kennedy Agyapong on August 27, 2025, formally filed his nomination to contest the NPP flagbearership ahead of the party's presidential primaries on January 31, 2026.
Mr Agyapong has told party delegates that he is the only aspirant with the experience and creativity needed to win back power for the party in 2028.
Speaking after submitting his nomination forms at the NPP headquarters, the former Assin Central MP said, unlike other aspirants who said they have ideas, he has both “ideas and creativity” backed by a proven track record.
“I have done it before and will continue to do it. So if I tell you I’m going to create jobs for you, believe in me. Let’s ask some of the candidates what they have done,” he said.
He said his record as a businessman makes him the best candidate to tackle unemployment and improve livelihoods.
“We are no more going to listen to rhetoric. We want somebody who can create businesses for the youth of this country. I always say that any human being without a job has no life. Do you want life? Then vote for Kennedy Agyapong,” he said.
