Former Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has expressed support for the call to expand the New Patriotic Party (NPP) electoral college.
Speaking at the Freshers’ Orientation and General Meeting of the TESCON branch at the College of Health and Well-Being in Kintampo, Bono East Region, Agyapong emphasized that the expansion would allow for more inclusivity while maintaining the integrity of the party’s structure.
He highlighted the importance of including more members to foster a sense of ownership, reduce apathy, and strengthen democracy within the party.

Agyapong also voiced strong support for the role of TESCON members, recognizing their critical contribution to youth mobilization and the projection of NPP on various platforms.
He urged senior members of the party and former appointees to support TESCON and enhance its influence across tertiary education campuses.
Regarding the suggestion to increase TESCON’s voting rights from two to five per institution, Agyapong endorsed the idea of granting all TESCON executives from accredited institutions voting rights during internal elections, which he believes would boost youth participation.

In recognition of their dedication, Agyapong expressed gratitude to TESCON members for their loyalty to the party.
He encouraged them to continue their efforts as the NPP works toward regaining power in 2028.
As part of his support, he made an undisclosed financial donation to assist the group’s activities and committed to funding TESCON branches across the country.

He reaffirmed this commitment when he visited TESCON members at the University of Energy and Natural Resources in Sunyani, Bono Region, later that day.
