The Deputy National Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Osman Ayariga, says former President John Mahama’s goal is to create a more viable economy that will empower young people to become successful entrepreneurs.
In an interview with Joy Prime on Tuesday, November 5, Mr Ayariga emphasised that Mahama envisions a Ghana where the youth are at the heart of economic transformation, with opportunities for young entrepreneurs to grow and thrive.
According to Mr Ayariga, the former president is committed to reversing Ghana’s economic challenges and placing youth empowerment at the core of his strategy.
He believes that by addressing key issues like high inflation and unemployment, Mr Mahama will set a solid foundation for young people to start their own businesses and create jobs for others.
"Mr. Mahama is focused on building an economy that works for everyone, especially the youth," Ayariga noted.
Mr Ayariga explained that under Mahama’s leadership, the NDC intends to introduce policies that support young entrepreneurs, providing access to finance, mentorship, and skills development.
He argued that Ghana’s current economic policies are stifling young people’s potential, with many facing obstacles to starting businesses and achieving financial independence.
Mr Mahama’s vision, he said, includes removing these barriers and equipping youth with the tools they need to succeed.
Highlighting Mr Mahama’s experience and commitment, Ayariga added that this youth-focused economic plan is integral to the NDC’s broader objective of national development.
“Empowering young people is not just an option; it’s a necessity for Ghana’s future,” he concluded.
Mr Ayariga encouraged young Ghanaians to rally behind John Mahama and the NDC for a more inclusive and entrepreneurial economic landscape.
