Middlesbrough are attempting a late push to sign Ghanaian forward Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer from Hamburg before the transfer window closes on Monday, as the club looks to bolster its attacking options in the race for Premier League promotion.
The Championship side believe a deal could be possible due to the 24-year-old’s contract situation, with Königsdörffer entering the final six months of his deal at the German club.
Middlesbrough are hopeful this could allow them to negotiate a reduced fee for the six-cap Ghana international.
Königsdörffer has caught the attention of the Teesside club following his performances for Hamburg this season, with his ability to play across the front line viewed as a major asset.
He has scored one goal in 18 appearances in the Bundesliga campaign.
The forward joined Hamburg from Dynamo Dresden in July 2022 for a reported €1.2 million and currently has a market valuation of €4 million, according to Transfermarkt.
In August 2025, French side OGC Nice were reported to have agreed a €6 million fee for the player, although the deal eventually collapsed.
Despite Middlesbrough’s interest, Hamburg are understood to be reluctant to sanction a sale this month, even with the player set to become a free agent in the summer.
Königsdörffer remains one of several attacking options being considered by Boro, who are expected to continue monitoring the situation closely should Hamburg’s stance change before the deadline.
