Former Chief Executive Officer for Bulk Oil Storage and Transport (BOST), Kwame Awuah-Darko has stated that, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) 2020 manifesto was drafted by the people of Ghana and facilitated by the party.
According to him, the manifesto which was launched on Monday captures all sectors of the economy.
He stressed that social intervention policies in the NDC 2020 manifesto will transform the country better than what the Akufo-Addo led government are doing currently.
Kwame Awuah-Darko said the NDC manifesto was created by the people of Ghana, for the people of Ghana and entails the will of Ghanaians.
"The document isn’t a tail wagging the dog but the head listening to the body which is how it should be. If you want to lead the people, you must understand not only who they are or where they are”.
“And you must have a vision that articulates where we will all like to go and we will all like to be. That’s exactly what the manifesto entails, the will of the people.” He added.
He added that Ghana has evolved and the level of illiteracy rate has decreased due to education and the introduction of social media.
Hence, Ghana needs to be treated as intelligent, smart and knows what it want out of life, and that’s what the manifesto is all about.
"We’ve gone from a country where education penetration was about 6% to where it is about 60% today because more universities have been built and more people have attended school. Most interesting today, there’s social media”.
"So you got to approach the Ghanaian as if he’s intelligent, smart and knows what he wants out of life and that’s what the manifesto is all about," he added.”
Former Chief Executive Officer for BOST also commended NDC General Secretary, Aseidu Nketia, on his remark on how the party came about it manifesto.
