The National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA) has dismissed Richard Takyi-Mensah, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Central Regional Secretary, from his position at the Authority.
Mr Takyi-Mensah, employed with the NPRA since March 2023, worked as a public servant in the organisation.
The termination was confirmed in a letter signed by the acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the NPRA, Chris Boadi-Mensah, which stated that his position as Takoradi Zonal Manager was being ended immediately.
The letter referenced the termination clause in his employment contract, dated July 26, 2023, which allows either party to end the employment relationship at any time after confirmation, with a one-month written notice or payment of a month’s salary in lieu of notice.

“Your employment with the Authority as Manager for the Takoradi Zonal Office is hereby terminated with immediate effect,” the letter read.
Mr. Takyi-Mensah played a significant role in both the civil and criminal prosecution of Mr. James Gyakye Quayson, the NDC Member of Parliament for Assin North.
When contacted by Adomonline.com, Mr. Takyi-Mensah confirmed the news of his dismissal, calling it unjust.
He expressed concerns over the lack of any law in Ghana that prohibits political party officials from working with the NPRA.
“This is illegal and amounts to pure victimisation of a political opponent by the NDC government,” he said.
