Director of Elections for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of attempting to manipulate the 2024 elections during the special voting process set for December 2, 2024.
Speaking to community members in Otoase, within the Ayensuano Constituency, as part of his five-day tour of the Eastern Region, Dr. Omane Boamah highlighted the NDC's commitment to ensuring a transparent and fair election process.
He expressed concern over the possibility of electoral manipulation during the special voting period.
The NDC official revealed that the party intends to collaborate closely with security agencies to ensure the election is closely monitored.
He emphasised that this would be critical to maintaining the integrity of the electoral system and preventing any form of malpractice.
Dr. Omane Boamah also called on Ghanaians to remain vigilant during the elections, urging citizens to support security personnel in safeguarding the democratic process.
He stressed the importance of collective effort in ensuring a fair and peaceful election.
“Elephant has made up their minds that, they will rig the votes in the upcoming election, they have decided to commence with the rigging of the election on December 2. The special voting is made up of the security agencies, journalists and EC officials."
“The Elephant has made up their minds to take advantage of the period to rig the vote. So we plead for the people of the Ayensuano constituency, as I have been saying throughout the campaign process. Special elections can be rigged so be vigilant."
“The security forces have decided not to allow the NPP to rig the votes in the upcoming election. let’s join forces with the security forces to prevent them from cheating on December 7," he stated.
