The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has extended goodwill to Ghanaians at home and abroad, while using Christmas to reflect on its first year in government and reaffirm its commitment to delivering on the mandate entrusted to it by the electorate.
In a Christmas and New Year message issued by Fifi Kwetey, the NDC General Secretary, the party urged Ghanaians, particularly Christians celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, to reflect on the values that define the season, including compassion, sacrifice, peace, and gratitude.
The NDC described the festive period as not only a time of celebration but also one for national reflection.
Beyond the seasonal message, the party drew attention to the political significance of the moment, noting that the Christmas season coincides with one full year since Ghanaians handed it the responsibility to govern.
The NDC acknowledged the weight of this mandate and stressed that it remains focused on translating its vision into tangible outcomes that improve citizens' lives.
According to the party, the past year has been defined by deliberate efforts by the NDC-led government to restore confidence in governance, stabilise the economy, and lay the foundations for sustainable growth.
These efforts, it said, have been pursued alongside a strong emphasis on social protection and accountability as key pillars of governance.
Looking ahead to the new year, the NDC reaffirmed its resolve to ensure that government fully delivers on its mandate.
It outlined its priorities as deepening economic recovery, expanding opportunities for young people, strengthening public institutions, and improving living standards across the country.
The party assured Ghanaians that it will remain responsive, disciplined, and results-oriented in the year ahead, guided by the mandate given by the people and mindful of the expectations that come with governing.
The statement concluded with well wishes to Ghanaians for a peaceful Christmas season and a prosperous New Year.
