The Inspector-General of Police, Dr George Akuffo Dampare has been lauded by members of the general public for his commitment to maintaining law and order in the country.
Since he became the substantive IGP, his outfit has apprehended many, including dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale for causing fear and panic, and musician Medikal, for brandishing a gun on social media.
Also, during his time as acting IGP, he met conveners of the #FixTheCountry movement for a post-protest review of their demonstration slated for August 4, and led the Service to investigate some murder cases including the tragic killing of three young men at Abesim Community among others.
In this short period, many have described his actions as geared towards turning the Police Service into a world-class institution as promised during his swearing in to office on October 8.
On that note, tonight’s edition of PM Express, JoyNews’ Evans Mensah and his panelists; Director-General of Police Public Affairs, ACP Kwesi Ofori, Security Analyst Dr Ishmael Norman, Vice President of IMANI Africa, Kofi Bentil and Security Analyst, Col Rtd. Festus Aboagye assessed the 'Dampare effect' so far.
