The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has denied media reports that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) is supporting member associations with Covid-19 financial reliefs.
Reports in sections of the sporting media last week suggested CAF was going to the aid of its member associations with some financial support.
Some outlets even quoted figures expected to be received by the Ghana Football Association Association.
The GFA, for instance, according to the reports was to receive $185,200 as its share of the relief funds from the continental body.
But in an interview with Delali Atiase on Monday Night Sports on Luv FM in Kumasi, Henry Asante Twum, Communications Director for the GFA, described the reports as untrue.
“Let me be blunt here, that story is not true. This is what happens year by year basis. CAF sends $200,000 every year to its member associations. Maybe this information is not known by the public, that's why I said I have to be blunt.”
The FA scribe added: “So it’s not true that CAF is sending special money for Covid-19, please. It is the money that they send their member associations every year. Nothing more nothing less.”
