Member of Parliament for Buem constituency, Kofi Adams has urged creatives in his constituency to be prepared to work hard and exercise patience if they are to succeed in their craft.

According to him, the sector has become one that requires a lot of discipline and sacrifice to prove oneself as the best in the game.

He made this comment during the Digital Music Education Seminar in Jasikan, Oti Region.

Addressing a gathering of artists, students, music executives, and stakeholders on July 26, the legislator spearheaded a groundbreaking event organized by Jonilar.net and Digishare Africa.

“Don’t believe in anything like luck. It is preparation and hard work that meets to create luck... Hard work is one attribute that you must not leave behind,” he told the gathering at the Jasikan Municipal Assembly Hall.

“If you are interested in this industry, it means you have to do even more. Because every time you must be imagining. I respect people in the industry because it is not easy. It is not an industry for dropouts or other things people used to think.”

The event witnessed the convergence of artists, educators, industry professionals, and stakeholders, all dedicated to revitalizing the creative arts landscape in the Oti Region.

The MP, an enthusiastic advocate of promoting cultural heritage and artistic expression, showcased his commitment to the region's artistic growth through this significant initiative.

The digital music education event aimed to foster innovation and empower aspiring artists, equipping individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to embrace the opportunities of the digital era in the creative arts industry.

During the event, Kofi Adams emphasized the pivotal role of music and creative arts in shaping society's cultural fabric. He acknowledged the abundant talent within the Oti Region and the untapped potential for growth and international recognition.

The legislator envisions a thriving creative ecosystem built on active collaborations among artists, educators, and stakeholders, nurturing the next generation of creative talents while preserving traditional art forms.

Subsequent stakeholder engagements served as platforms for robust discussions and brainstorming sessions on crafting comprehensive policies to support the creative arts and music sector.

The panels shared diverse perspectives, with attendees offering insights on potential funding mechanisms, infrastructure development, and strategic partnerships with public and private entities. Alongside the MP, Jonathan Nii Laryea (Jonilar), the CEO of Jonilar.net, contributed ways to leverage online platforms and other valuable insights.

Other panelists included art collector Wisdom Yaw Ofori, culture journalist and digital communication strategist Kenneth Awotwe Darko, lecturer Dr. Hansen Akoto Baako, tourism curator Fredrick Kofi Dro, Joshua Tetteh, and beautician Gloria Afetor.
