A female student of the Adventist Senior High School in Kumasi has sustained severe injuries after being shot in the head by a colleague in class on Friday morning.
The year-two student was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital upon a referral from the Kwadaso SDA Hospital.
The suspect, who is in the same class with the victim, was arrested by the Suame District Police.
Information available to JoyNews indicates the suspect brandished a pistol after the morning’s lesson in class.
He pulled the trigger after some students who saw the gun on him doubted if it was a real loaded pistol.
