A second half strike by Samuel Bioh sank the hearts of Asante Kotoko fans as Aduana Stars were surprise victors at the Accra Sports stadium on Sunday.
Kotoko came into the game full of confidence unbeaten in their last five league games knowing that victory would send them to the summit of the table.
The Kumasi-based side started the game strongly creating the better scoring opportunities.
However, the deadlock was broken in the second half against the round of play.
Johnson Smith's men failed to deal with a cross which fell kindly for Bioh who struck his shot into the roof of the net to give Aduana the lead.
The team from Dormaa held on to secure their first away victory against Kotoko in their history.
The result also puts Aduana into the title race as they now sit just two points off Karela United who are top.
