The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) board has lifted its ban on Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy ahead of the 2021 edition of the show.
The ban was imposed on the two dancehall artistes after a brawl occurred between the two during the 20th Anniversary edition of the VGMA in 2019.
In a statement released by the board of the VGMA, the board stated that the reason why a ban was imposed on the Ghanaian artistes was that their actions during the brawl disrupted the ceremony and caused fear and panic amongst the attendants of the event.
The board hopes this serves as a lesson to other artistes in the industry and hopes such altercations do not happen at future events.
The lift of the ban makes Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy eligible to participate in this year's edition, as well as subsequent editions hosted by the organisers.
Meanwhile, call for nominations for the 22nd edition of the VGMA closes on Monday, February 15, 2021.
