Communications Director of Legon Cities, Kwame Dwomoh has denied claims that the club is on the brink of sacking head coach, Bashir Hayford.
The future of Bashir Hayford at Legon Cities is uncertain following a chain of poor results.
The Royals dropped into the relegation zone after losing to Kotoko at the Accra Sports stadium.
The result meant that Legon Cities had picked up just one win in their last six Ghana Premier League games.
It has since been widely reported that former Kotoko coach, Maxwell Konadu will be replacing Hayford.
However speaking to Joy Sports, the communication director of the club, Kwame Dwomoh Agyemang, referred to claims of Hayford's dismissal as false.
"If there was going to be any decision on our boss, that would've been communicated to the world by now, at this point we haven't communicated that. Of course when a manager is hired just like in every other space there are targets that are set for the manager. Internally we had a lot of conversations concerning Bashir Hayford and with what his experience could do for the club."
He also added that, despite their disappointing season so far, they are still optimistic about the remaining twelve matches.
"Unfortunately things haven't gone as planned but we're still very confident with the remaining twelve matches and we will be able to turn things around. As to whether the manager is going to stay with us or not, we have not put anything out there informing anyone of any decision concerning the head coach so at this point, Bashir Hayford still remains the head coach of Legon Cities Football Club," he concluded.
The Accra-based club are 16th in the league with 23 points from 22 games and will travel to Cape Coast to face Ebususa Dwarfs over the weekend.
