One-time CAF Champions league winners, Hearts of Oak, have been invited to the maiden edition of the West African Challenge Cup organised by Aubay Sports & Monange Promotions.
The pre-season tournament is expected to take place in August with eight participating teams.
The tournament seeks to bring together league champions from from West and Central Africa to compete.
Hearts of Oak will be joined by USGN, Horoya, Arta Solar 7, Loto Popo, Vita Club, Sonabel and Buffles FC.
The competition will serve as good preparation for the Phobians who return to continental football next season.
Samuel Boadu’s men wrapped up their 21st league title last Sunday with a draw against Liberty Professionals.
The West African Challenge Cup will take place from August 14-22, 2021 in Benin Republic.
