Ghana Premier League champions, Asante Kotoko, have issued a communique to refute reports of head coach Prosper Ogum Narteh resigning from his role as the head coach of the team.
On Thursday, July 21, the former WAFA coach was reported to have stepped down from his role as the gaffer of the Porcupine Warriors during a board meeting.
Speculations have emerged of the 44-year-old disagreeing with management over transfer issues as well as interference.
Management member of the club, Emmanuel Dasoberi in an interview with Daily Graphic said, “The coach has not formally written to the club about his resignation, but even when some members tried to persuade him to change his mind, he responded that his decision was final."
“During the meeting with the board to discuss his report to the management, there was a disagreement over his request to sack 10 players and recruit 17 new players, including four centre-backs."
“It was at the point when some members of the board questioned the justification of some of his requests that Coach Prosper Ogum said he had a two-year contract but wanted to move on with his life, so the club must look for a new coach,” he added.
However, in a presser signed by Board Secretary Kwamina Mensah Esq, the club has denied such reports and has asked the public to disregard the information.
