Some passengers sustained minor injuries as the Metro Mass Transit (MMT) bus with registration number GN 6163-16 collided head-on with an articulated long truck with registration GT 2586 H.
The accident which occurred on Wednesday on the Juaso section of the Kumasi-Accra road involved a Metro Mass Transit bus and a VIP bus all headed in the Accra direction.

Scores of passengers in both buses have been left stranded for hours as traffic floor on the main road has also ceased due to the crash.
Eyewitnesses say the Metro Mass bus was trying to avoid a stationary vehicle on the side of the road.

It crashed into the long truck while the VIP also crashed into the rear of the buses.
Another eyewitness who was in the articulator truck, "There were two taxis parked by the side of the road and a stationary vehicle on the other side of the road."

“The Metro Mass Transit bus which was headed towards Accra stopped for the trailer to move through the opposing lane but the VIP bus which was following the metro bus directly crashed into its rear forcing the metro bus to collide with the trailer,” he added.
