Ghanaian sprinter, Joseph Paul Amoah, will run in Heat 6 of the men's 200m at the Budapest World Athletics Championships, where he will face American sensation Erriyon Knighton, and Tokyo Olympic Games gold medallist and Canadian champion, Andre DeGrasse on Wednesday, August 23, 2023.
Paul Amoah is the former national record holder in the event, with a Personal Best time of 20.08s, and he will have to run something close to that time in order to progress from this heat.
Ghana teammate, James Dadzie, who snatched Joe Paul's national record early this year, has the relatively easier race, with only one man from his heat going under 20 seconds in the event this season.

The good news for Joe Paul is that only one of the athletes in his heats, the number 2 ranked Knighton, has done a sub-20s run in the 200m this season. Amoah's season's best time is 20.43s.
Dadzie on the other hand, has the fastest time this season in his heats, but he has struggled with injuries all season, and has not competed since 17th July, 2023.

The men's 200m heats are scheduled to begin at 09:00GMT on Wednesday.
